Transmission Undercutting

We offer IN HOUSE transmission work with quick turn around (usually within 1-2 days) from the day we receive it.

2nd Gear got you down???  Let RC's Performance undercut your transmission for smooth trouble free gear changes.  We modify the face for better engagement with less pressure.

First and 2nd gear on the 99-07 Hayabusa are not undercut from the factory, resulting in engagement failure after very little use.  We have seen practically brand new Hayabusas come in our shop with second gear failures with very little mileage.  In most of these cases the Suzuki dealership will not warranty this problem.  If they do cover this they are putting the same problematic gear back in.  STOP!!!!  This is a waste of time and money.  Bring it to RC's Performance and let Chuck undercut and alter the dimensions for superior engagement and longevity.

Call for scheduling a quick two day turn around for a drive in - drive out turn key 2nd gear fix.  Meaning, we will take the motor out of your bike, split the cases, remove the transmission, undercut 2nd gear and reinstall the motor back in the bike.  We also inspect all the other gears, shift forks, shift rods, and shift drums.  All you need to do is drop it off and pick it up when its done.

Or you can pull the transmission out and send it to us.  We will undercut 2nd gear and inspect all other gears.  If you send the shift forks and shafts, we will inspect them as well.  Inspect and undercut 2nd gear for $125.

If any of your transmission parts are unusable, you will be notified prior to proceeding with the transmission repair.

We also offer billet shift rods as an upgrade to your transmission service.

So what is undercutting???

Undercutting involves modifying the drive dogs and slots to precise angles that force the gears to lock together under acceleration.  This helps prevent them from jumping out of gear.  A drive dog with a 0 degree back cut from the factory, under normal wear and tear, enables the corners to round over, allowing the gears to disengage from one another.
